Mounted between the chuck and ground control point
of a pin with a diameter close to that of the workpiece or preferably more. Install the Steady rest on its support,
leaving the screws loose.
Then control the cylinder to close the rolls on the Steady rest
plug and lightly tighten the screws on the bezel which is then automatically centered.
With two comparators in contact with the plug, placed at 90 °
to each other, centering is checked several times to correct
any minor errors by positioning the screws in place
on the team. Then lock the screws securing the Steady rest.
